Zoë Benavidez
Hello! I’m Zoë (they/she) and I am a sophomore here at Barnard studying Women, Gender and Sexuality and Native American/Indigenous Studies. I’m from Tucson, Arizona and I am very much still a desert rat forever and always. I am very excited to work here at the Zine Library and centering marginalized voices within our global community through zines and our events! I haven’t landed on what I would like to do after graduation, but I know I want to focus on connecting work within marginalized communities and restructuring our current government systems to be more restorative.
Here are some fun facts about me:
- My favorite music genres are heavy metal/grunge and disco. But I do love a good podcast, too.
- There is a miniature replica of me on display in a museum back home in Tucson! It’s way less creepy than it sounds, I promise.
- I trained in classical guitar for five years and I want to learn the bass guitar now so my mom and I can form a band since she plays the drums.
- I am on a never-ending quest for the best pancakes in the city, so if you know of any must-try spots, please let me know!
Olivia Callanan
Hi! I'm Olivia (she/her) and I'm a first-year at Barnard from Ann Arbor, Michigan. I’m interested in studying English and Women's, Gender and Sexuality. I'm super stoked about zines and their ability to unconventionally represent queer, radical, and feminist perspectives. I would love to work in independent publishing or library sciences in the future and help promote uncensored and accessible expression and knowledge. I'm an avid perzine enthusiast and I love to collage and listen to music in my free time! I also love love love nature and encourage everyone to get outside and protect our planet!!! I hope to see everyone in the zine library this semester!
Some fun facts about me:
