I'm Alekhya (she/her), a Barnard College freshman from the San Francisco Bay Area. As a prospective biology and sociology double major, I'm particularly interested in the ways in which climate change will impact human health. At the Barnard Zine Library, I work primarily on abstracting zines and curating the newsletter. Here are some fun facts about me!

  • I love listening to audio dramas and podcasts. Some of my favorites include The Strange Case of Starship Iris, EOS 10, and the Wayward Guide for the Untrained Eye.
  • Some of my favorite books are Death on the Nile by Agatha Christie, the Interpreter of Maladies by Jhumpa Lahiri, Things in Jars by Jess Kidd, and Persuasion by Jane Austen.
  • My favorite genre of music is blues rock. Some of my favorite bands include Larkin Poe, Janis Joplin & Big Brother and the Holding Company, Jimi Hendrix, and Tyler Bryant and the Shakedown. I also love electric blues artists like Chuck Berry and Howlin' Wolf.
