The Zine-O-Thon will commence with an all-levels zine-making workshop led by Claudia Acosta. Participants will receive instruction and support for cut-and-paste physical zine making along with a zine kit containing sheets of paper, glue sticks, scissors, deaccessioned magazines from Avery Library, and an Earth Day-themed clip art book with images from the Barnard and Columbia Archives. Participants may wish to bring additional art supplies, stickers, and magazines to share. Butler Library room 203, Friday April 22, 2-4pm.
For the next week people will complete their zines to trade them in a mini zine fest in the Barnard Zine Library (MLC, 2nd floor). Staff will assist with free copying and printing, and covid-willing, there will be snacks! Friday April 29, 2-4pm.
These events are co-sponsored by the Barnard Zine Library and Columbia University Libraries in a collaboration between CUL Teaching and Undergraduate Services Librarian Kaneisha Gaston and Barnard Zine Librarian Jenna Freedman.
