zines

artnoose sold us a nearly complete collection of her multifaceted letterpress zine Ker-bloom!, and we're making our way through it, cataloging each distinctly titled issue individually.

WBAR Barnard College Radio and the Barnard Zine Club are collaborating to make a music-related zine to be published this spring. This will be WBAR's first zine in almost a decade! Get excited and get involved!

Due Tuesday, January 17, 2012.

What does Occupy Wall Street mean to you? Do you have a story about something you saw at a protest? Thoughts, opinions, experience?

Submit to the Occupy Wall Street Zine!

Drawing on the inspiration of doing the Meet Me at the Race Riot zine event, I decided to teach everyone in the world how to make a micro-mini zine - otherwise known as a 16-page mini booklet made out of one sheet of 8 1/2 x 11 paper. Enjoy!

And do check out more of my zining experiences on my blog, The Cowation.

Carrie Colbitts is collecting submissions on being trans or genderqueer and going through puberty/adolescence for her 7-12th grade students.

I have such a love/hate relationship with Library of Congress subject headings, that thought I might attempt to cultivate the same in you. So, for your enjoyment and frustration, here are new-to-the-zine-collection subject headings I applied to zines while cataloging this weekend:

For the second issue of our zine, we’re looking for personal stories, artwork and/or photographs that center around physically, emotionally, psychologically or otherwise awkward sexual experiences.

Get ready for the grand opening of PEOPS, a gallery show featuring "a collection of portraits & stories of people by Fly. Each page contains a new face surrounded by words - for the most part the words are a story that the person tells about themselves or about something they experienced or about something they heard..." at the Lower East Side Girl's Club on Thursday November 10th, 6-8pm. Check out the PEOPS website for more information about the show!

There will be some fabulous readers and amazing art happening that night, so go to their Facebook event and press that Attending button right away!
