Library of Congress Subject Headings Added While Cataloging Ker-bloom

In cataloging the collection, we've been adding to Library of Congress Subject Headings we've applied to zines in our collection. Here are some of the headings we've added through cataloging issues of Ker-Bloom!

  • Arrest--United States.
  • Block parties--United States.
  • Communists--California--San Francisco Bay Area. AND Socialists--California--San Francisco Bay Area.
But what I really wanted was Marxists.
  • Community life.
  • Computer war games.
  • Cycling--Political activity--United States.
  • Emotions.
  • Excision (Surgery).
Accompanied by Do-it-yourself work, a heading we'd employed previously to zines in our collection
  • Finger puppets.
  • Functional foods--Surveys.
  • Girl groups (Musical groups)--United States.
  • Go (Game) problems.
  • Hell.
  • Iraq War, 2003--Protest movements.
  • Kissing--Personal narratives.
  • Korean language--Orthography and spelling.
  • Landlord and tenant--United States.
  • Letterpress printing--History.
  • Linoleum block-printing--Specimens.
  • Luddites--Congresses.
  • Perlman, Fredy--Appreciation.
  • Police--United States. AND Riots--United States.
I had to use two separate headings because lamentably there is no heading for Police riots.
  • Political manifestoes--United States.
  • Self-publishing--United States.
  • Substitute teachers--United States.
  • Typesetting.
  • Typewriters--Appreciation.
I know--how had I never applied this one before?!?
  • World Wide Web--20th century.

And they all get Letterpress printing--Specimens.
