zines

Not Your Mother's Meatloaf is doing an all-call for zine submissions on the theme of Endings - due January February 1st! The project strives "to challenge hetero and gender normative practices in sexuality education" through stories and comics that represent a wider spectrum of topics that should be taught in sex ed. Make sure to check out their past issues at the Sex Ed Comic Blog.

artnoose sold us a nearly complete collection of her multifaceted letterpress zine Ker-bloom!, and we're making our way through it, cataloging each distinctly titled issue individually.

WBAR Barnard College Radio and the Barnard Zine Club are collaborating to make a music-related zine to be published this spring. This will be WBAR's first zine in almost a decade! Get excited and get involved!

Due Tuesday, January 17, 2012.

Drawing on the inspiration of doing the Meet Me at the Race Riot zine event, I decided to teach everyone in the world how to make a micro-mini zine - otherwise known as a 16-page mini booklet made out of one sheet of 8 1/2 x 11 paper. Enjoy!

And do check out more of my zining experiences on my blog, The Cowation.

I have such a love/hate relationship with Library of Congress subject headings, that thought I might attempt to cultivate the same in you. So, for your enjoyment and frustration, here are new-to-the-zine-collection subject headings I applied to zines while cataloging this weekend:

For the second issue of our zine, we’re looking for personal stories, artwork and/or photographs that center around physically, emotionally, psychologically or otherwise awkward sexual experiences.
