The Center for Cartoon Studies' Schulz Library is pleased to announce a call for applications for an MLIS-candidate paid internship for the summer of 2011.
The Cyberpunk Apocalypse Visiting Writer Program is a one-month residency at the Cyberpunk Apocalypse writers house in Pittsburgh. The writers will be given a small bedroom at no cost and access to the same communal kitchen, bathroom, living space, etc. that is used by the long-term residents (again at no cost). Visiting writers will, however, be expected to take responsibility for acquiring and preparing their own meals. Applicants should also realize that they will be living communally with the long-term residents of the house and in an urban environment (i.e. not a cabin retreat).
Brooklyn College Library seeks its first Zine Intern!
The Brooklyn College Library is looking for a motivated library school student with an interest in small and self-published magazines, underground publications, alternative materials, or print culture to help organize and promote our new zine collection. The Brooklyn College Library Zine Collection is focused geographically on work that is being produced within the borough of Brooklyn, and our first intern will help shape what is to come with this inaugural collection for CUNY. This internship could encompass duties related to the collection, organization, and processing of items in the collection, as well as the study and promotion of zines and independent media. According to the interests of the intern, they also might work on special projects related to the collection, and/or gain experience with the wider functions of the Brooklyn College Library, especially within the Information Services Department.
